MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD
Your Name is a story between two people tied by fate. Basically, one day two people switched bodies, and now they want to find out who they switched bodies with, until they just stop switching bodies. The way they tell this story is near perfect, and this is why I'm writing a review on it.
Story/Storytelling: 95/100
Your Name's way of telling it's story is actually great. Like, you're seeing one end of the story and then BOOM you're seeing it from the other side! There are of course some flaws in the story, and the way some of it was translated led to some controversy, (eg. Taki's writing on Mistsuha's hand), but none of it affected the story for m- wait, why am I talking about this here? Anyway, NEXT!
Art/Animation: 100/100
The only perfect score on this review. The art style fits really well with the feel of the story. And the animation, it's nothing less than beautiful. It feels like the animation and art studio working on this put their heart and effort into making this movie look and feel as good as possible.
Music: 85/100
The music is great, there's nothing bad about it, but it's that some of it just doesn't belong. Sometimes there are scenes that don't need music, but the put music in anyways. Other than that, it fits the movie very well.
Characters: 90/100
Everyone in this movie is like a real person. There's none of that fake "I love you please be my girlfriend" bullcrap here. Even the background characters have a great personality. But what really shines are the stars of the show, Taki Tachibana and Mitsuha Miyamizu. Not only do they feel like real human beings, it's as if they had feelings and emotions, not only as people, but as characters.
Overall: 93/100
This is a movie for everyone, no matter the age, preference, or tastes. The characters are great, the music is near perfect, the animation is superb, and the story is amazing. This movie is a must see for all anime fans, and newcomers to anime. Overall, this is a great anime and everyone should at least give it a chance.
